Megan Wilson, LPC

Hi, I’m Megan Wilson (she/her). I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Kansas who believes we all deserve access to a safe and empowering space to learn more about who we are, what’s important to us, and how to move through the world authentically.

Are you questioning who you are or what’s important to you? Do you often find yourself seeking approval from others to measure your self-worth? Do you feel overwhelming pressure without understanding why? I’ve gone through my own personal journey with these questions, and I know from both professional and personal experience that a safe space to question, explore, and grow can bring healing, peace, and confidence. I’m passionate about creating this space and I’m here to welcome you when you’re ready.

I work primarily with neurodivergent folks (ADHD and/or autistic), the LGBTQIA+ community, college students, and people who have experienced religious trauma. I’m especially passionate about working with people who are looking for a space to explore their identities and values in a safe, affirming space. If you’re ready to show up just as you are and start exploring together, reach out to schedule a free consultation call today.

Individual Therapy Services

I provide individual therapy to adults ages 18+ in person in Lawrence, Kansas or online for anyone in the state of Kansas. I might be a good fit for you if you are:

  • a college student (undergraduate or graduate) exploring who you are and what’s important to you
  • a member of the LGBTQIA+ community looking for a safe and affirming space
  • autistic and/or ADHD (clinically diagnosed or self-identified)
  • deconstructing religious beliefs or experiences that no longer align with your values
  • struggling with perfectionism or burnout
  • looking for skills to navigate anxiety or depression

I would not be a good fit for you if you’re under the age of 18, if you’re looking for faith-based services, or if you’re looking for treatment for multiple people (i.e. relationship or family therapy).

I’m trained to use a variety of practical approaches to help you explore who you are, what’s important to you, and how you want your values to show up in your life. My approach is primarily person-centered, which means I believe you’re the expert in your own identities and experiences and you’re inherently capable of meeting your goals. I also use techniques from several other approaches as appropriate, such as Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

I have a calm, gentle presence and will bring a mixture of authenticity, empowerment, and dry humor to our work together. When you come to my office, you can show up authentically, too – whether that means using fidgets, cursing, or looking anywhere except at me while we talk. I’m ready to welcome you just as you are.
